Strait Off The Boat was proudly founded by Judy Rowlings and Craig Harriss, but our fishing story truly began when Craig first set sail at just 16 years old. His passion for the sea grew, and in 1996 he became captain of our very own fishing vessel, MaryH.

In 2011, we opened our doors in Devonport with a simple mission: bring Tasmania’s finest seafood directly to our local community. From the outset, we decided never to compromise on freshness or quality. With the MaryH under our command, we control every part of the journey—from ocean waves directly to your plate.

In 2023, we welcomed a new chapter as our eldest son, Anthony Harriss, stepped onboard. He now helps steer our family business into the future, ensuring that our legacy of fresh, delicious seafood continues for generations to come.
